Category:MacOS graphics softwareThe present invention relates to the field of wireless communication. Specifically, the present invention relates to a system and method for verifying a primary device connection to a secondary device.
The use of wireless communication devices is common in modern society. Such devices, such as cell phones, smartphones, personal digital assistants (PDAs), and pagers, are often used for business, personal, and private uses. For instance, cell phones are often used to facilitate communication and commerce.
In some situations, a primary device (e.g., a cell phone) is connected to a secondary device (e.g., a computer or a desktop phone) through a wireless connection. For instance, the primary device may connect to the secondary device via an infrared connection. To further increase efficiency, the primary device may automatically connect to the secondary device when the primary device is within range of the secondary device, and release the connection when the primary device moves out of range of the secondary device.
This automatic connection can be problematic, as it is not typically possible to determine if the primary device has successfully connected to the secondary device. For example, a mobile device in a vehicle that is moving at high speeds may be unable to detect the secondary device within a short range, and may instead remain connected to the secondary device for a long period of time.
